I'm lucky to have Madhuri Dixit as my fan: Dharmendra

New Delhi: If life is good for superstar Dharmendra that's because laughter is frequent. So when Dharmendra visited the capital recently to promote his film 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2', which released on June 7, he, as expected, managed to cast a heartfelt laughing spell.

Even though the fans had to wait for over an hour for the cast of 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' - Dharmendra, Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol, Neha Sharma, Kristina Akheeva, the stars were greeted with a thunderous applause. And as expected, the guests cheered the loudest for the Deols explaining the unrivaled popularity they enjoy.

After posing for the shutterbugs, the cast answered a string of questions about their film 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2'. But it was superstar Dharmendra's quick and witty replies that had the guests in splits.

When asked if plans are underway for the third part of 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', Dharmendra replied, "Aapke mooh mei ghee shakkar. Aap ise pasand kijiye. Usey bhi zaroor banegey. Iska result dekhtey hain pehle."

In his bid to enliven the conversation and amuse his guests, Dharmendra ended up leaving them shocked when he got speaking about the romantic sequences in the film.

"When we made 'Apne', people told me, 'Dharam ji, you made us cry with such an emotional film'. Hence, we thought of making 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', which we thought would be noted for its comedy. I'm sure people will like the sequel too as it is an interesting mix of comedy, thrill, action and romance. Iss film ke romantic scenes bahut pyaare hain. Neha Sharma, who stars opposite Bobby Deol, has done a great job," he said.

Australian model and actress, Kristina Akheeva, who makes her debut opposite Sunny Deol in the film, may have been a bundle of nerves while auditioning for the film, but she succeeded in impressing Dharmendra. "When I watched Kristina's audition for the film, I told Sunny, 'Iss ladki ko dekh ke dil mein dhak-dhak nahi, dhakka-mukki hone lagti hai'. And I even expressed my interest in taking up Sunny's role," he replied.

So whether it is his acting prowess or sense of humor, Dharmendra's fan base is always expanding, understandably so.

When asked to react to Dhak Dhak girl's fondness for him, the superstar said, "I'm lucky to have Madhuri Dixit as my fan. So what if I'm not romantic, I look romantic, at least. Romance meri chaal dhaal mei hi hai shayad." For the uninitiated, Madhuri Dixit had referred to Dharmendra as the most handsome person in Bollywood.

We all know about the Dharmendra's ability to pull movie buffs into his world and how he leaves them on the edge of their seats, but nothing can be pitted against his looks which can still make many fall for him.
